Week 1: Meet Mrs. White...

Me, Myself, & I
Getting to Know Mrs. White

1. Name- Sabrina Daughtry White
2. Where and when were you born? I was born on August 27, 1984 at Nashville Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
3.Do you have any siblings? I have 1 older sister, Marsha, who teaches 2nd grade in Gallatin TN.
4. Favorite Book? Choosing To See by Mary Beth Chapman
5. Favorite Color? Pink ; )
6. Favorite Movie? That's a tough one...real tough! I have my "top 3." which includes Dirty Dancing, Sweet Home Alabama, and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
7. Favorite Food? Any type of Pasta!! : )
8. Favorite Place outside of the classroom? If I could choose a second home, it would undoubtly be the beach! I love the simplicity of the ocean, and being able to sit back and see the splendor of God's Grace in each wave.
9. Do you have any pets? Yep! More like a kennel, hah. We have 3 dogs and a cat. We also have 4 pigs, that my kiddos would claim as pets. ; )
10. Tell us a little about your family: I have been married to my best friend, Daniel, for going on 8 years. He is truly my rock! We have 2 spunky kiddos, Gavin & Daughtry. Gavin (G-Man) is 7, and Daughtry (Sweets) is 5...After typing that, I'm feeling a little old! ; )
11. What is your weakness? 1 Word....C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E!
12. If you could be any superhero, who would it be? After having a slight debate with my 7 year old, I would love to be the Human Torch....G-Man introduced him to me from his XBox Game, Ultimate Alliance, and he has super speed, so fast he's invisible! Talk about getting stuff done! : )
13. When you were in 4th grade, what did you want to be when you grew up? From the time I was in 1st grade, I knew I wanted to be a teacher...I spent all of my extra time playing school to my stuffed animals! When I got a little older, I had thought about becoming an OB nurse, but my HUGE fear of the needles, blood, etc. teaching was my safer bet! : ) *Oh, and there is 1 more! I'm a H-U-G-E Disney nerd, I love DisneyWorld! Every year, even last year, I told my mom & dad I wanted to take Tinkerbell's job at Magic Kingdom...At Night she would fly out of the highest window in Cinderella's castle using a zip cord, with her bright green light pack!
14. What was your favorite subject in school? I have always loved Math and Social Studies. When I was younger, I struggled with Reading. Knowing my weaknesses, I was able to push myself to become successful in Reading, and now it's one of my most favorite things to do!
15. What's your most faovrite thing about teaching? WOW....now that's even tougher than the movie question!! Just one.....IF I had to choose one, I would say my most favorite thing is seeing kids grow in all aspects, and being successful in and out of the classroom...AND watching kids have a LOVE for learning!

Dream Big, READ!

Hello to all of our upcoming 4th graders! I hope you all are having an amazing summer break! My family and I are really enjoying the outdoors this summer. We have spent lots of time at the creek...our favorite! : ) We have one more favorite thing to do....can you guess? R-E-A-D-I-N-G! We love to sit down as a family to read. We are currently reading the Flat Stanley series, "Stanley, Flat Again." I plan on adding them to our class library after we have finished them...Hopefully, you all will enjoy them as much as we are! I wanted to send out a quick friendly reminder to keep up the hard work on your summer reading packet! *Remember-you need to complete 12 hours of reading to attend the 4th grade Bash, which is separate from the Title Incentive....the writing/reading packet.
I hope you all have a fabulous summer, and I look forward to meeting each and every one of you soon!

Lelan Statom Visits WHE...

Lelan also clarified lots of myth's about severe weather, including "counting the seconds between thunder and lightening, in order to tell the distance." ; ) We are so thankful for the opportunity to participate!
